Finalists for 11th Annual SMA Manager of the Year Awards Announced

Envestnet and 'Investment Advisor' Magazine will Recognize Award Winners during 2015 Envestnet Advisor Summit--May 6-8 at the Hilton Chicago

CHICAGO, IL, April 23, 2015 -- Envestnet, Inc. (NYSE: ENV) and Investment Advisor magazine have partnered to choose the finalists for the 11th Annual Separately Managed Account (SMA) Manager of the Year Awards. The awards honor best-in-class SMA managers, and will be presented during the 2015 Envestnet Advisor Summit, which is taking place from May 6-8 at the Hilton Chicago (http://www.envestnet.com/advisorsummit).

"A clearly defined and sustainable investment strategy isn't enough to generate consistent alpha for investors—investment success also depends on the human capital of the firm running the strategy," said Tim Clift, Chief Investment Strategist, Envestnet | PMC. "We are proud to put our due diligence expertise to work in recognizing these outstanding managers alongside Investment Advisor."

Awards for Strategist and Impact SMA Managers of the Year have been added to this year's competition. The creation of the Strategist category, which acknowledges exceptional third-party portfolio strategists, follows the recent influx of strategies launched by institutional money managers. The Impact category honors SMA portfolios driven by investment processes that include corporate governance, social, environmental, or faith-based investing considerations. The demand for these impact investing strategies continues to increase.

A single SMA Manager of the Year will be selected from among the category winners as a model of investment management excellence. Investment Advisor will feature all of the winners in its July 2015 issue.

To qualify for an SMA Manager of the Year Award, a manager is required to have a management team with at least three years of experience running a strategy that has a minimum of $200 million in assets. In addition, its product must be reported through Envestnet | PMC's PrimaGuide research application. PMC's Premium Research Solutions is a leading source of investment manager due diligence and research applications for advisors.

The award finalists were chosen based on Envestnet ৷PMC's systematic, proprietary, and multi-factor evaluation methodology. This framework takes into consideration a variety of quantitative and qualitative criteria, including performance, firm profile, investment process and style, customer service, composite, and tax efficiency.

"As SMAs continue to increase in popularity among investors, it is vital to call attention to investment managers whose strategies have delivered meaningful results for their clients, and that exhibit desirable firm and process traits," said Jamie Green, Editorial Director, Investment Advisor Group of ALM Media, which publishes Investment Advisor. "The use of a precise due diligence process to identify and spotlight SMA managers with best-in-class strategies and management teams is a tremendous benefit for our advisor readers and their clients."
