Angela Duckworth

Angela Duckworth is the co-founder of Character Lab, a nonprofit whose mission is to advance scientific insights that help children thrive. She is also the Rosa Lee and Egbert Chang Professor at the University of Pennsylvania, faculty co-director of the Penn-Wharton Behavior Change For Good Initiative, and founding faculty co-director of Wharton People Analytics. A 2013 MacArthur Fellow, Duckworth has advised the World Bank, NBA and NFL teams, and Fortune 500 CEOs. Prior to her career in research, Duckworth founded a summer school for underserved children that was profiled as a Harvard Kennedy School case study. She has also been a McKinsey management consultant and a math and science teacher in the public schools of New York City, San Francisco, and Philadelphia.

Duckworth completed her undergraduate degree in Advanced Studies Neurobiology at Harvard, graduating magna cum laude. With the support of a Marshall Scholarship, she completed an MSc with Distinction in Neuroscience from Oxford University. She completed her PhD in Psychology as a National Science Foundation Graduate Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania. Duckworth’s TED talk is among the most-viewed of all time. Her first book, Grit: The Power of Passion and Perseverance, is a #1 New York Times best seller. She is also co-host of the podcast No Stupid Questions.
Bill Crager

As Strategic Advisor for Envestnet, Bill Crager plays a key role nurturing client and partner relationships, leaning in on strategic initiatives and serving as an advocate for advisors and the wealth management industry.

Mr. Crager and the late Jud Bergman were among the first in the managed solutions industry to attempt to streamline independent advisors’ practices by offering a broad range of fee-based products side by side within an easily accessible, open-architecture portal. Nearly 25 years after its establishment, Envestnet, under the leadership of Mr. Bergman and Mr. Crager, has grown into the leading managed solutions service provider by total platform assets, total accounts and number of advisors served—and is uniquely positioned to help advisors adapt to changes in how essential advice is defined (and delivered). 

In 2015, the Money Management Institute bestowed its highest honor on Mr. Crager, naming him that year’s Industry Pioneer. He was voted one of the IA25 by readers of ThinkAdvisor and Investment Advisor magazine in 2020. 

Prior to joining Envestnet, Mr. Crager served as a Managing Director at Nuveen (formerly Rittenhouse Financial Services). As Group President, Envestnet Solutions and Co-Chief Investment Officer at Envestnet, Dana is responsible for wealth and asset management solutions across Envestnet's ecosystem, including its research, overlay, direct indexing, sustainable investing and retirement services, as well as partnerships with exchanges and other wealth solutions providers. Dana is also a chair of Envestnet | PMC's Investment Committee.

Prior to joining Envestnet, Dana was most recently a Managing Director of Symmetry Partners where she also served as President and a Portfolio Manager of Symmetry Panoramic Mutual Funds, the firm's multi-factor family of funds.

Dana is a frequent contributor on CNBC Squawk Box, Bloomberg TV and Radio, Yahoo! Finance, and Nasdaq TradeTalks. She has been honored by Money Management Executive as one of the publication's “Top Women in Asset Management” in 2018 and “Women to Watch” in 2017. Tom is a co-founder and Managing Partner at Magis Capital Partners. Prior to founding Magis Capital Partners, he served as the Chief Financial Officer of Sculptor Capital Management. Tom has held several senior executive positions at Credit Suisse, Fidelity, and Gartmore, including Global Chief Operating Officer for Credit Suisse's Wealth & Asset Management division.

Tom received a B.A. in Finance from Alfred University and an M.B.A from the University of Pittsburgh Katz Graduate School of Business. He has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) designation and is a member of the board for each of the Envestnet Exchanges.
Charles Duhigg

Charles Duhigg is the bestselling author of The Power of Habit: Why We Do What We Do in Life and Business, which explores the science of habit formation in our lives, companies and societies. His newest book, Supercommunicators: The Power of Conversation and Hidden Language of Connection, delivers a simple but powerful lesson: With the right tools, we can connect with anyone.

Duhigg's presentations are both descriptive and prescriptive, and speak to a wide range of groups from the fields of science, medicine, business and education.

Duhigg is a Pulitzer prize-winning investigative reporter for The New York Times Magazine. A former writer for The New York Times business section as well, he has authored or contributed to multiple series, including “The Reckoning” (2008), which studied the causes and outcomes of the financial crisis, and “The iEconomy”, which examined the global economy through the lens of Apple, and which won the 2013 Pulitzer prize in explanatory journalism. He has also won the George Polk Award (2007), the Gerald Loeb Award (2008), the National Journalism Award (2009), was a Business News Visionary Award recipient (2020-2021), and other honors. Currently, Duhigg writes for The New Yorker and hosts the "How To!" podcast for Slate Magazine.

In addition to his reporting, Charles Duhigg is a regular contributor to television and radio, including the Newshour with Jim Lehrer, Frontline, Dr. Oz and various programs on CNBC and NPR. Before becoming a journalist, Duhigg worked in private equity and founded a health care company in his home state of New Mexico (and, for one terrifying day in 1999, was a bike messenger in San Francisco.) He is a graduate of the Harvard Business School and Yale College.
Ian Bremmer

Ian Bremmer is a political scientist who helps business leaders, policy makers, and the general public make sense of the world around them. He is president and founder of Eurasia Group, the world's leading political risk research and consulting firm, and GZERO Media, a company dedicated to providing intelligent and engaging coverage of international affairs. Ian is an independent voice on critical issues around the globe, offering clearheaded insights through speeches, written commentary, and even satirical puppets (really!).

He is the host of GZERO World with Ian Bremmer, which airs weekly on US national public television. Ian is also a frequent guest on CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, the BBC, Bloomberg, and many other television stations around the world.

Ian is credited with bringing the craft of political risk to financial markets, creating Wall Street's first global political risk index (GPRI), and for establishing political risk as an academic discipline. His definition of emerging markets—"those countries where politics matters at least as much as economics for market outcomes"—has become an industry standard. He also serves as the foreign affairs columnist and editor at large for Time magazine. He currently teaches at Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs and previously was a professor at New York University.

Ian earned a master's degree and a doctorate in political science from Stanford University, where he went on to become the youngest-ever national fellow at the Hoover Institution. He received his bachelor's degree in international relations from Tulane University.

Ed brings decades of broad leadership experience to his role. He was appointed as the inaugural President of Empower upon its formation in 2014 and has led the organization through a period of strong and sustained growth, positioning the firm as the go-to provider of financial services for more than 18 million investors.2

Ed is a board member of the Employee Benefit Research Institute, Boston College Wall Street Council, Colorado Inclusive Economy, and the American Enterprise Institute National Council and a member of The Wall Street Journal CEO Council. He is active in supporting numerous not-for-profit, educational, and charitable causes, including service to Boston College through the Board of Regents, the board of Cristo Rey High School in Boston, and as a board member of The Ireland Funds and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Ed is a former board member of the New England Council and a past Trustee of Emmanuel College in Boston.

Brooke Baldwin

Rick Rieder

Rick Rieder, Senior Managing Director, is BlackRock's Chief Investment Officer of Global Fixed Income, Head of the Fundamental Fixed Income business, and Head of the Global Allocation Investment Team. Responsible for roughly $2.7 trillion in assets, Mr. Rieder is a member of BlackRock’s Global Executive Committee (GEC) and its GEC Investments Sub-Committee. He is also a member of BlackRock's Global Operating Committee, and Chairman of the firm-wide BlackRock Investment Council.

Before joining BlackRock in 2009, Mr. Rieder was President and Chief Executive Officer of R3 Capital Partners. He served as Vice Chairman and member of the Borrowing Committee for the U.S. Treasury and member of the Federal Reserve’s Investment Advisory Committee on Financial Markets.

Mr. Rieder currently serves on the Alphabet/Google Investment Advisory Committee and the UBS Research Advisory Board. He has been awarded the 2023 Outstanding Portfolio Manager by Morningstar, was nominated for Outstanding Portfolio Manager by Morningstar in 2021, was awarded the Global Unconstrained Fixed Income Manager of the Year for 2015 by Institutional Investor, was nominated for Fixed Income Manager of the Year by Institutional Investor for 2014, and was inducted into the Fixed Income Analysts Society Fixed Income Hall of Fame in 2013. From 1987 to 2008, Mr. Rieder was with Lehman Brothers, most recently as head of the firm's Global Principal Strategies team, a global proprietary investment platform. He was also global head of the firm's credit businesses, Chairman of the Corporate Bond and Loan Capital Commitment Committee, and a member of the Board of Trustees for the corporate pension fund. Before joining Lehman Brothers, Mr. Rieder was a credit analyst at SunTrust Banks in Atlanta.

Mr. Rieder earned a BBA degree in Finance from Emory University in 1983 and an MBA degree from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1987. He is a member of the board of Emory University, Emory's Goizueta Business School, and the University's Finance Committee, and is the Vice Chairman of the Investment Committee. Mr. Rieder is founder and chairman of the Goizueta Business School's BBA investment fund and community financial literacy program, Graduation Generation Public School Collaboration in Atlanta.

Mr. Rieder serves as Chairman and President of the Board of Education for North Star Academy's fourteen Charter Schools in Newark, New Jersey. He is on the Board of the BlackRock Foundation, the Board of Advisors for the Hospital for Special Surgery, and the Board of Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Newark and Essex County. Mr. Rieder is a Member of the Ownership Group and Board of Advisors of the Baltimore Orioles. He is responsible for expanding State Street Global Advisors’ footprint and thought leadership effort through frequent contributions to the financial news media, speaking engagements and client interactions. Michael is a highly regarded speaker at industry conferences and is the author of several articles related to investment management practices. He is a member of the firm’s Senior Leadership Team.

During his more than 25-year career as an investment professional, Michael has served as State Street Global Advisors’ Global and EMEA Head of Portfolio Strategy as well as a senior portfolio manager in the Global Active Quantitative Equity Group. He has substantial experience developing long-only and long-short quantitative strategies and managing investment portfolios using quantitative disciplines. Michael has worked extensively with the firm’s global institutional and intermediary clients to help them identify investment solutions that enable them to meet their long-term financial goals.

Vadim Zlotnikov

Vadim Zlotnikov is head of Fidelity Institutional®, a division of Fidelity Investments, that offers investment insights, strategies, and solutions, as well as trading and prime brokerage services, to a wide range of wealth management firms, asset managers, and institutional investors. Fidelity Investments is a leading provider of investment management, retirement planning, portfolio guidance, brokerage, benefits outsourcing and other financial products and services to institutions, financial intermediaries, and individuals.

In his current role, Mr. Zlotnikov draws on his three decades of investing experience to offer Fidelity’s institutional and intermediary clients the investment solutions and trading capabilities they need to serve their end investors. Amid a rapidly evolving wealth management and institutional market, his organization offers a full suite of open architecture institutional investing solutions, institutional trading and lending capabilities, and insights.

Previously, Mr. Zlotnikov served as president of Fidelity Asset Management Solutions, where he led the institutional asset management, sales, relationship management, client servicing, and institutional portfolio management teams. His asset management responsibilities included oversight of the Global Institutional Solutions (GIS), Fidelity Diversifying Solutions (FDS), and Global Asset Allocation (GAA) investment divisions.

Prior to joining Fidelity in May 2018, Mr. Zlotnikov spent 25 years at AllianceBernstein. As chief market strategist from 2010 until 2018, he provided macro and quantitative research that helped identify thematic investment opportunities. During that period, he was also a co-head of multi-asset solutions, where he managed the development and implementation of integrated investment portfolios for the retirement, institutional, and retail markets. He was also a CIO of systematic and index strategies, which includes a variety of return-seeking and risk mitigating products. Prior to 2010, Mr. Zlotnikov held a variety of positions at AllianceBernstein, including CIO of growth equities, chief investment strategist, technology strategist, and analyst.

Mr. Zlotnikov started his career as an engineer at AT&T Bell Laboratories and spent six years as a management consultant at Booz Allen. He has been in the financial industry since 1993.

Mr. Zlotnikov received his bachelor of science and master of science degrees in electrical engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and his MBA from Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
